Androwhizz – Nobody Cares

The Androwhizz project by Dimitri Janszoons, from Antwerp, doesn't waste time, it enters the “Nobody Cares” right away. The song is honest from the start and so are all the elements of the song. It's easy to hear that this was not a well-lit studio with endless retakes or constant changes. It's like something that's been left natural from the beginning.

The song started out with just a guitar and a voice, with no pre-planned arrangement. Then additional parts were added, one by one. A deep bass sound and some synths gradually filled in the track, while electric guitars slowly filled it out. Despite all that, it still has the vibe of the original recording. It's still there all the way through.

Dimitri's voice is at the centre of the song. He doesn't attempt to sound perfect and that's in his favour. His delivery of each line is simple and direct, as if it were an honest delivery, rather than a carefully performed one. Because of that, the anger in the song seems genuine. It's as if you're talking to yourself without worrying about impressing anyone.

You see problems arising from pride and stubbornness rather than true causes. The song is not meant to instruct people or to offer a lesson. It just brings those feelings to the fore. The music enhances that feeling and allows it to develop naturally.

The song was recorded at various locations such as home studios, garages, and bedrooms. This makes it feel very personal and lived-in throughout. There are no overused or over-refined phrases. The rough parts are intentionally left in, as they add to the song's character and truthfulness.

At the end, “Nobody Cares” feels more like a planned single than something that needed to be made. From the start, Dimitri followed his gut, and he stayed with it until the end. The decision makes the song sound raw and honest, and it feels real. A good work from an artist who knows how to follow his own path.
